My parents live in their own home. Dad, who is almost 93, had a fall in August and fractured his lumbar spine. Mom, who is 89, looked after him in his back brace for a time at home after the hospital, but it was really exhausting for her. We had to have some respite for both of them. We had a recommendation for Baraka, so Raj and Juliet came out to meet Dad. We found them to be kind and compassionate. We got Dad a room, and he was there from early September to late October. He was well cared for, enjoyed the company of staff and other residents. He ate very well! Though he missed being at home, he often says, “It was a wonderful place to convalesce.” When the fall weather was nice, he enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the rock water feature and watched the leaves turn. He is back home now and has fond memories of being looked after well.
